The team at Alex Johnson Insurance Agency have been representing clients in the DC Metro region for over 25 years. Alex Johnson is owner of The Alex Johnson Insurance Agency (AJIA), an independent full- service agency specializing in casualty and property insurance. Alex is a customer-service focused insurance agent who has serviced the DC Metro area for nearly 35 years. He was a Nationwide agent for over 25 years until he became an independent agent in 2021. He now not only represents Nationwide Insurance, but Travelers, Progressive, and Hartford Insurance, to name a few. Alex earned a BA in political science from Kenyon College and moved to the DC area upon graduation. He has lived in Alexandria, VA for over 25 years where he and his wife have raised three children. Alex enjoys spending time with his family, golf, gardening and following the Nats.

Katie Sayounsat joined our team in February 2021 and has been a huge asset to our agency. Katie originally hails from Michigan but she has lived in the DC area for over 15 years. Prior to working with us she worked for over 10 years in an Allstate agency. Katie is an expert in auto and home insurance and she enjoys solving complex insurance problems. When Katie is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Carla Lopez joined our agency in January 2022 after working for ten years in State Farm agency. Carla was born in Bolivia but emigrated to the US with her family many years ago. She is fluent in English and Spanish which has been essential to providing our same level of excellent customer service to our Spanish speaking customers. Carla has experience selling auto, home, commercial and life insurance. When Carla is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and dancing with her Bolivian dance group. Carla and her family reside in the Alexandria area.
